The Hopkinton, Mass., storage and information managementgiant EMC) said Wednesday the Media Lab sponsorshipl is one of several initiatives coordinatex out of EMC Research Cambridge, whichy will be located at 11 Cambridge Ctr. in Mass. The center will houses EMC’s security-business research lab, RSA Laboratories, as well as abou a dozen researchers, technologists and businesws leadersacross EMC’s business units. The company also has researc h facilities in China andSanta Clara, Calif.
“Researcgh and advanced technology groupsacross EMC, along with our globapl university research partners, are discoverin g and exploring new technologies that will shapse the future of digital information,” said Jeff Nick, EMC seniod vice president and chief technology officer, in a statement. “Thisx is an incredible opportunity for EMC to bring together some ofthe world’sa leading research minds and innovatorsa in areas such as personalk information management, information integration and cloud computing.” As a consortium sponsor of the MIT Media Lab, EMC will be able to accesa the center’s research on how people use and interacyt with new technologies.
